Training for Mountain Rescue teams
Volunteer Mountain Rescue teams rely on training to prepare for the tough demands of rescuing people in need on the hills. But particularly in winter teams often lack expertise in delivering training to upskill their volunteers. We’ve been offering training in winter for many years drawing on both extensive rescue and professional experience allowing us to deliver for English, Welsh, Scottish teams and the Royal Air Force.
Most training is delivered by Simon Verspeak, who has been a member of Llanberis Mountain Rescue since 2008. As well as volunteer experience he has also worked on mountain safety teams for some of the most challenging UK mountain running races.
Are other trainers are not just experienced instructors but also experienced rescuers on some the UK’s busiest teams.
WINTER TRAINING
We can deliver training bespoke to your requirements; this could be personal skills in mountaineering for team members, winter rigging or avalanche rescue.
SUMMER TECHNICAL TRAINING
Whilst our predominant delivery is over the winter months in Scotland, we also offer advice on mountaineering and technical rescue in summer conditions.
